Veiled layoff
Senior iOS Developer • Former Employee
São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil
January 4, 2023
Pros: Good salaries, benefits, and projects.
Cons: They were left without mobile projects at the end of 2022 and, after a month on the bench, they advised us to undergo reskilling to be able to work in another area, promising that no one would be laid off. In the third week of this reskilling, right at the turn of the year, they laid off a bunch of people :)

Pros: In the short term, it's good for leveraging your career and getting into a better position at another company.
Cons: The company does everything to pay you below market value. The career plan only exists on paper and, in practice, they use the new CLT amendment, article 620, to pay the salary adjustment with a value below the IPCA index. Employee appreciation only happens when you resign.
