I had an interview today on mainframes.

They asked basic questions on JCL and DB2. It was a 30-minute one-to-one virtual interview. The questions were moderate, as I have experience in this area.

After the interview, they said they would give my feedback to HR and let me know. I am not sure if I am selected or rejected, but I am just sharing my experience with others.

1. What are the different types of performs and what is perform varying?

2. What are 'comp' and 'comp-3' and how many bytes are stored?

3. What are dynamic calls and static calls? When should we use calls?

4. What are the different divisions in COBOL?

5. What are keyword parameters and positional parameters?

6. What are PRCOs?

7. What are GDGs and how many versions can we store?

8. What are the different types of joins? What are left outer join and inner join?

9. What are cursors?

10. What is the use of a copybook?

11. To transfer data from JCL to COBOL, what do we use?

12. What is 'go back' in standalone?
