Process

A drive was held for final-year BE students on October 18, 2016. The eligibility criteria were 60% throughout with no backlog, and it was only for CS, IS, EC, and EE branches. There were around 300 students for the drive.

We were happy to know that there was no negative marking this year, as Capgemini had previously conducted aptitude tests with negative marking.

The first day started with an aptitude test hosted by a third-party company that conducts online tests. The test had 20 questions, with half from logical reasoning and the other half from quantitative aptitude. The test covered a limited number of topics, nearly 10 to 15. The questions were a bit tricky, but still easy to solve.

The second round was an essay writing session that began immediately after the aptitude test concluded. All attendees had to write an essay. The essay round seemed quite easy, and it was conducted to assess our language skills, indentation, formatting, spelling, and typing style. We had to write an essay of 300 words.

After this, we were asked to wait for the results until noon. The next round was scheduled for the very next day.

We heard that the cut-off was around 70%.

I was amazed to see my name on the list, which included 41 other names.

I had studied basics in Data Structures, C, C++, Java, and DBMS.

The second day had two rounds: a technical round followed by an HR interview.

The day began with a pre-placement talk.

I was the eighth person to enter the interview room. I was so excited that my enthusiasm was visible, and the interviewer directly commented, "You seem excited."

After asking all his questions, he seemed impressed. He wrote "very good" on my resume and passed it to the HR round. I was the only one to receive a "very good" comment among all candidates.

I was then sent to the HR round, which also ended well, and the HR was impressed.
