Pros

If you are a complete fresher, you get to become familiar with corporate culture and environment.

Cons

You don't get any growth in your technical experience. You will be stuck in a bench period, and your salary increment will also be delayed. Management will then ask you to take up non-technical roles, even if you are from a technical background.

Advice to Management

Try and give a chance to employees who are hired in mass hiring. You never know, they might also be capable of contributing to technical projects. Instead of hiring new experienced employees for some project, try to train the employees who are on the bench and allocate them to the projects.
