A brief phone call with a recruiter led to the next step: a CodeSignal assessment.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get the assessment to work for weeks, for reasons unknown.
Then, it became proctored, which felt patronizing and artificial.
I stressed to the recruiter that these assessments are not very valuable, as they only test how well one has internalized certain patterns rarely seen outside of these tests.
His response was, "That's nice."
