MOST UNPROFESSIONAL / RUDEST INTERVIEW OF MY 10-YEAR CAREER.
An interviewer invited me to a call over LinkedIn. I accepted. I had some trouble hearing her initially, so I asked for some patience. Eventually, we got connected, and she confirmed she could hear me. She explained the interview process, then interrupted herself to say, "Hello? Hello?"
I told her I could hear her just fine. After a few moments of silence, I explained that I would call her back. I tried to call her back a few times and even left a voicemail.
I reached out over LinkedIn to explain the situation and asked to reschedule, and she ghosted me.
Clearly, a poor phone connection on the interviewer's side is enough to disqualify a candidate as "too much of a hassle." If this is how they treat you within the first 60 seconds of interacting with them, I guarantee you it is not worth your time interviewing with them.
The interviewer decided to fake connection issues, then ghosted me mere seconds into the interview.
