The interview process began with a recruiter screen, followed by a Code Signal coding assessment in the language of my choice. It consisted of two easy LeetCode problems and two medium LeetCode problems. I completed 3 out of 4, which was enough to pass on to the final round, their "Power Day."
The Power Day comprised four parts:
The behavioral interview asked simple STAR questions. The case study was similar to the process described on their website but easier, involving walking through a simulation and performing some simple mathematical calculations.
Following that, there was some code debugging. One technical round was a data engineering system design interview, which was typical to examples found on YouTube. The other technical round involved coding answers to small problems in a programming language and SQL, with all tasks related to data engineering and databases in general.
Overall, it was a pretty straightforward process. The interviewers were nice and allowed plenty of time for questions. The only downside was that they did not provide the reasons for my rejection or suggest areas for improvement.
