My phone interview with a manager seemed like a corporate espionage attempt. He repeatedly asked for specific details of algorithms I developed at my previous employer. I mentioned the unethical nature of the question and stated that companies usually ask canned technical questions rather than requesting an explanation of proprietary details of competitors' algorithms. The interviewer persisted and was clearly unhappy with my responses. I emailed the recruiter, but nothing happened. I then received a rejection email. This interviewer should be fired.
