The interview process was unnecessarily long. It involved a prescreen, a coding challenge, a technical interview, and a "power day".

The power day consisted of four one-hour interviews over the course of the day:

• A code-based technical interview
• A "case study"
• A behavioral interview
• A systems design technical interview

The first three interviews went well. The "case study" felt out of place and unusual. It was somewhat technical but emphasized business logic more. There isn't a great way to describe it, and finding relevant information beforehand proved difficult.

The last interview did not go well. The interviewer joined five minutes late and spent over ten minutes on their introduction. They had an accent that was difficult to understand and generally seemed arrogant.

The question posed was too involved to answer reasonably within the remaining forty minutes. The interviewer repeatedly interrupted in a non-constructive manner, seeming to nit-pick rather than offer guidance. It was challenging to go in-depth when faced with a five-part question and only forty minutes. It felt like everything said was being overly scrutinized, even when simply thinking out loud.

Ultimately, I barely finished the first part of the question. Afterward, the interviewer ran over time, bragging about working at Capital One and its 401k plan. This felt completely unprofessional. At least now I understand why they arrived five minutes late.

The technical coding question was a series of LeetCode-esque questions about writing some banking-related functions.
