I had a 30-minute phone screen with the hiring manager. This was a fairly standard one, focusing on my experience and what they are looking to do.
This was followed by a 3-hour interview at their offices. This included questions about leadership and management, team building, system design, and general situational questions (e.g., "Tell me about a time when you had to X"). I felt I nailed it, especially the system design part.
Unfortunately, the feedback I received was that they were looking for more technical people. I thought this was incorrect, considering I performed very well on the system design portion. I asked to speak with the hiring manager to get direct feedback (which he promised me during the interview), but I received no response. This showed a lack of respect for a candidate who invested significant time in the interview process.
Tell me about a time when you had to work on a complex project involving multiple teams.
