Software Engineering Director Interview Experience - Plano, Texas
Process
The process began with a couple of phone screens from different areas of the company. This allowed them to determine where I would be most interested in joining. I appreciated this approach, as it demonstrated my strong skill sets and their desire to understand me before making hasty decisions.
This was followed by another phone screen, about 20 minutes long, with the hiring manager. Then came a "power day" interview, which included seven 1:1 interviews covering behavioral and case study scenarios.
One final round of in-person, 1:1 interviews, with two interviewers this time, preceded an offer a couple of days later.
The entire process took approximately 45-60 days, though much of this time was interrupted by Thanksgiving and the Christmas/New Year holidays.

Every six months, you get "stack ranked" against all the other associates at your level in your org, and the bottom X% (I've heard anywhere from 7-15%) get PIP'ed. Even if you're in a high-performing org, they have to cut a certain number of people by mandate. It's terrible for morale and causes a lot of unnecessary stress, and often ends up forcing out good people. They also won't account for personal circumstances at all, so if you have a major medical issue for one performance period, well... good luck.
