Pros

Some genuinely talented people. Good tech. Good pay and benefits. Smart people.

Cons

Capital One politics has raised its ugly head at the Boston/Cambridge office. It's blatantly obvious that senior management is biased towards who they feel are "talented." Constant re-orgs with poorly thought-out and heavily skewed favoritism have made this office, especially the Finance group, unpleasant to work in.

The way to get promoted or be put on a path to "stretch" for promotion is by kissing up to higher-ups to get out on projects that appear to be game-changers. The truly talented associates are ignored.

You had a good thing going here but ruined it by letting petty office politics win, when true talent goes unnoticed.

Advice to Management

Wake up. It's not too late to correct your mistakes before you lose the really talented people in this office.

Human resource associates, you need to get your heads out from under the sand and stop looking the other way when promotions are being given out to new hires when others have been working their behinds off for years.

You have so-called bias ambassadors who are supposed to speak up during performance evaluations, but they seem to have been silenced or ignored when the latest promotions were made.

Wake up before you lose your way for good. It's not too late.
