Good pay relative to other software jobs in the area. Lots of different areas of the company, so there are always new things to learn.
The performance review process is quite terrible. You can easily be caught off guard and face a PIP.
Worse, the entire stack ranking process creates too much unnecessary anxiety and leads to a lack of trust.
Internal tools and processes can be a bit finicky.
The return to office policy feels pretty pointless with so many teams scattered around.
Probably isn't worth it to be churning through employees every 6 months.
Maybe come up with a better review process.
The interview process at Capital One was very long and somewhat tedious, with multiple stages and repetitive questions. It felt overly drawn out, but the communication was clear and professional throughout the entire experience.
It was a good experience. Starting from the HR recruiter call, then the star power day interview. After the interview, they said they would take me for another software engineer position, but later, I did not get any response from them.
I had a coding test with 4 questions. Quite simple questions. Then, I had their power day with systems design, coding, case, and behavioral. It was all quite simple; the simplicity surprised me.
