Frequent communication with managers and teammates. Emphasis on getting help if you're stuck, and a willingness to help if you need it. Realistic deadlines, with enough time to complete the task and the option to carry it over to the next sprint. No crunch time. Not expected to keep working after hours unless it's really an emergency.
Pay as a contractor is quite a bit lower than for an associate, but that's more of the staffing agency's problem than Capital One itself. People get moved between teams if there's a reorganization, but that only happened once to me.
It was a good experience. Starting from the HR recruiter call, then the star power day interview. After the interview, they said they would take me for another software engineer position, but later, I did not get any response from them.
Initial recruiter call. There was an online assessment followed by a power day, which consists of 4 rounds: * Behavioral * LeetCode * System design * Code review Then team matching happens.
The interview process consists of three rounds: Technical, Behavioral, and Case. This feels like a pretty standard process. I don't want to give too much information as it might make things harder. Why is there a 30-word limit?
