Pros

Good benefits and environment. The CEO has a strong vision for the company and is making it a tech company.

Cons

People leadership is generally poor.

Managers are a level and don't imply that you manage people.

Many get to this level because of technical skills and end up managing people.

Cross-cals are brutal, and the ones with better political skills or strong managers succeed while good engineers struggle with strong ratings.

Attrition rates are already rising for tech employees, with the strongest leaving, not the poor performers that you would expect with stack ranking and force distribution.

Tech employees, stay away unless you enjoy selling yourself over delivering a great product.

Advice to Management

Continue investing in people leadership courses, as it's badly needed. Fix the cross-calibration process; it's very unfair and biased toward salesmen over technical skills and results.
