Good learning opportunities, e.g., cloud technologies and architecture skills. Good benefits. Decent work-life balance. Work with some bright people.
Stack ranking at its absolute worst.
The performance system is tweaked ad hoc (grading criteria, rate cutoff dates, consequences of landing below, bell curve percentages, etc.), even retroactively, to cut people instead of publicly announcing layoffs. This has fostered a toxic environment where associates fight over the pieces that subjectively matter the most during calibration time, instead of focusing on proper development practices.
This is a very stressful environment to work at, and I can't, in good faith, recommend it for the sake of the employee's mental health and job stability.
You know exactly what is wrong.
It's sad that upper management refuses to change the toxic system.
It doesn't work.
