Good pay. Most engineering teams don't track PTO, so it's kind of like unlimited PTO.
Very competitive performance management that stacks peers against each other. This makes it hard to relax and support one another; most people are out there for themselves. Leadership is also more concerned about looking good themselves.
Furthermore, bereavement leave sucks. They just increased it to two weeks, but even that isn't enough in some cases.
