Extremely unprofessional and a complete waste of time. I would say worse things, but this is Glassdoor, not Reddit.
HR asked me for a phone screening on Thursday. It went well, and I was asked to set up a call with the hiring manager/tech lead. I received the confirmation, and the call was scheduled for Tuesday.
I messaged the recruiter to inquire about the interview format and any extra details, but I received no response. When the interview time arrived, nobody showed up. I waited for 30 minutes.
I then emailed the recruiter, and they sent an automated response stating they were out of office. On Wednesday, they informed me that the role was filled. Absolutely disgusting. I spent the weekend preparing and studying, too.
