Process

The recruiter's technical screen was great, very pleasant and really sold the teams and opportunities available. I spoke to a Director of Engineering on another call and again had a very good chat and was very excited to continue in the process.

The onsite was horrible. Very bro-y vibe all around from the engineers, and I pretty much knew by the second interviewer that the company wasn't one that I'd join. Not only did some of the interviewers barely look at me, about half of them didn't ask about my background at all. I'm really curious about what the hiring practice is here. They're obviously not looking to hire folks that make the company better; they're looking for folks who can implement a full REST API in 30 min while a rude interviewer is breathing down your neck. No hard feelings when they rejected me; not the kind of place I'd like to join anyway.

Questions

Some pretty typical sys design and implementation of an API. Almost zero behavioral questions or discussion on culture.
