God knows what I was interviewed for. The JD was for a Web Automation Engineer, but the interview was for Mobile Automation.
In the first round, the first question the interviewer asked me was, "ARE YOU MARRIED OR SINGLE?"
How does that really matter to the interviewer regarding a person's status?
Then there was a lame reason given that since we need to train people, married girls or those who are going to get married seek other locations. The answer I gave was, "My [partner] would even be there in the same city, so no point in me running away."
Well, then the interview started on Appium, and I said no, since I had no experience with it. I had just looked at it once and told them I had installed it once but never worked on it. The questions came on Appium only: What are desired capabilities? Where do you set them? What's their need? What if you run without them?
Same questions on Katalon (again, not my experience).
Asked about Java encapsulation and abstraction.
I answered in pure English since there was no reference to my current framework, and he drew the conclusion that I have basic English knowledge of Java.
Then a few more out-of-context questions.
Finally, the worst thing came up. With a blank interviewer screen, I generally tend to look down at my laptop logo and answer. He said, "Can you answer the difference between SOAP UI and REST?" but looking up, I feel you are searching and answering" (when my hands were on my side on the chair).
Well, that took my interest, and still, I answered. Without asking him anything, I left the chat.
All I stated in the beginning was that it was supposed to be a requirement for web testing, but this you told for mobile, and I have no experience in that.
