I interviewed for the Full Stack Developer role at Cisco Duo. Everything was remote, and the entire process lasted about four weeks due to some postponements. The recruiters were very helpful and kept me informed throughout the process.
It started with a recruiter screening over the phone. The first recruiter I spoke to was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. After the phone screen, it took a couple of weeks to get the interviews rolling. Several other candidates were also interviewing for the position, and all interviews were held during the same week. Cisco held virtual seminars so candidates could learn more about the company, its employees, and the programs they offer. This gave us all a clearer idea of what they are about.
When interview week arrived, it began with a behavioral interview. The two people I met with were also friendly and asked about my background and the types of projects I had worked on. I was told beforehand that the biggest mistake people make is not sticking to the STAR method when answering questions. All in all, it was a standard interview.
Later that week, I had my technical interview. It wasn't overly difficult, but my nerves got the best of me, and I didn't perform as well as I would have liked. The first question involved examining code in a language I had no experience with (this was intentional) and describing what I thought it did. The next question was a variation of the LeetCode "valid parentheses" problem. I got stuck implementing the code, although I was able to describe the solution.
Overall, the experience was good, although I was not offered the position.
