Cisco is a well-known and reputable company, so I was happy to receive an invitation from them.
However, the experience was rather shocking!
While I was expecting questions about error handling, data structures, architecture, layout, and design patterns for someone with 8 years of experience, the interviewer started with the syntax of the setTimeout function. I thought they might start from the basics, but they went on and on asking about basic syntax for all functions for an hour. Of course, nobody remembers all JavaScript function syntax by heart. Hence, I didn't impress him.
This was a worst experience from a company I thought was a dream place! The interviewer seemed immature, and his questions were like those in a college interview. They say "be yourself" on their careers page, but the interview suggested otherwise.
I feel bad as this was the most unfair interview I have ever faced.
Write setTimeout function
Write Promise function
String function, etc., etc.
