Process

The screening test involves two sections:

  • Aptitude Test: 25 questions in 30 minutes. The questions are of an average level and require speed to solve.
  • Electronics Background Test: 30 questions in 40 minutes. These are GATE-level questions, mostly focusing on Digital Electronics such as circuits, setup time, and hold time violations. A few Analog questions were also present.

This was followed by two rounds of technical interviews and a one-hour HR interview.

I cleared both technical rounds by answering almost all questions and proceeded to the HR interview. However, the HR disqualified me.

The HR's behavior was very rough. I answered all his questions well, except for one. He asked for information about a previous company on campus, which I refused to provide due to the college's secrecy policy. Consequently, he disqualified me.

Questions

Setup time, hold time, FSM, Digital design (simple), one-hot encoding, hardware sort, VHDL, test bench.

HR:

  • General introduction
  • Why Cisco?
  • Any plans for higher studies?
  • Family background?
  • Which company have you applied to before?
