Initial discussion with the HR team regarding the shortlisting of candidates. They had a requirement for GoLang. HR mentioned that even if I were a Python developer, it would be fine.
Second round: Technical discussion with the onsite team.
Third round: Technical discussion with the Indian team.
Before the fourth round, HR called and informed me that the team wanted to check my programming skills, as they were hiring for GoLang and I am a Python developer.
Fourth round: Technical round with the onsite team.
The fourth round went well. The interviewer showed me their monitoring tool and also mentioned that initially, I would be working with them, and later I would move to a different team. They also stated that I could learn GoLang even if I didn't know it.
After all rounds, I had hopes of getting an offer, but I didn't hear anything from the HR team for two days.
Then, I emailed the Cisco HR team asking for feedback. They replied, stating that I am currently not a good fit for the role they are looking for.
It feels bad after taking many rounds and spending time on them, only to be rejected without any proper reason. Why did they schedule interviews when they didn't have the intention to hire?
