Software Developer Interview Experience - New York, New York

Process

I received a call from the HR department informing me that I had been shortlisted for an interview.

I made it clear to them several times that my profile, being different from the required technology, might mean I was not a good fit for the role.

They assured me that I would be interviewed based on my own technology expertise.

Taking time off from the office, travelling all the way to Cisco, and then facing an interview for a technology I had never even worked on, obviously left a negative impression.

It's a heartfelt request to HR departments to please value the time and effort of candidates as well.
