A written test was conducted in Chennai. I learned about it through my friends. It was an easy round with some aptitude and C/C++ objective questions. I passed it. Then, I was called for a face-to-face interview at the Cisco Chennai Campus.
The interviewer asked some puzzles, followed by questions about my current role at my company, as detailed on my resume. They also posed two programming questions related to easy string manipulations. Overall, it was a good experience.
Two questions.
Tell me about yourself. The interviewer asked me this, and as soon as I started, the lights went out. I also stopped speaking. Then the interviewer kindly said, "Continue, I can listen to you." And I continued until the lights came back on. [30 seconds]
I was explaining something, and then the interviewer began asking how I did that and tried to delve deeply into the topic. I understood that he had deep knowledge on that subject. Thus, I politely told him that the particular module was outsourced to another company. That's when he said, "This is where I have spent 15 years of my career." The interviewer then went on explaining. I listened politely and asked further questions, nodding as he explained for half an hour.
He was very happy with my overall interview process.
