The interview process was really good until the HR round started. All technical and managerial rounds were completed in one day. After that, they told me to go, and HR would call.
Three days later, I got a call from HR asking for some documents. After another three days, I got a call from Cisco Staffing, asking the same old HR questions. He asked me about my expectations, which I shared. Then he said that HR would call me for further discussion.
I had performed well in all the rounds, so I was expecting an offer or at least a negotiation if my expected salary was too high. However, I did not receive any call from HR. I tried calling HR many times, but the calls went to voicemail.
Finally, I sent an email asking for feedback, after which HR called me, sounding somewhat enraged, and asked me when I had called her. I explained everything that had happened after the interview day. She stated that my expected salary was not within their budget, so they did not call.
I told her that since I had devoted so much time to this interview process, I deserved at least a negotiation. To that, she said that Cisco does not do any negotiation, which is a complete lie. She filled that position without even discussing with me whether I was willing to lower my salary expectations. And after that, a really pathetic excuse.
I really did not expect this kind of low-level, time-wasting experience from a company like Cisco. Everything happened just because of that lethargic HR. Completely disappointed.
