Process

The interview process is comprised of three interviews.

The first interview was very technical and an answer was given back in less than a week.

The second interview was based on a project I did and sent them for review, and it also included a technical coding question.

The third interview was mostly formal; we talked about the company and the positions available for me.

Questions

A sawmill has a conveyor belt that transports wood out of the mill.

The mill has two types of wood blocks:

  • Long (30cm)
  • Short (25cm)

You are given two sensors that you can place on top of the conveyor belt. These sensors notify your program every time their state changes.

You can set up the sensors at any position you want. At the end of the day, your program should be able to return the number of short and long wood blocks processed during that day.
