Process

I had four rounds of interviews with three different teams.

Each interview lasted for at least two hours and consisted of multiple technical interviews, each lasting 45 minutes with Cisco engineers.

Questions

All of the interviews were technical and consisted of asking me about one of my projects, then moving on to technical questions regarding the field, and finally a set of coding challenges.

The following are the areas in which I was asked technical questions:

  • Networking
  • Linux Programming
  • Processes + Multithreading
  • Memory Management
  • General questions about C/Python

These are the coding challenges I was asked about:

  • Checking the error in the code and fixing it
  • Counting the number of 1's in a binary number
  • Reverse order traversal of a binary tree
  • How to copy a string in C
  • Finding the missing number in an array when given numbers from 1 to n

Most of the coding questions were followed by some analysis and questions regarding possible errors.
