Software Engineer Interview Experience - United Kingdom

Process

Initially, there is a programming test where you are asked three programming questions, which can be completed in any language.

After that, there is a video interview where a panel of interviewers asks you questions about yourself and your CV. They then ask how you can improve your solution to the programming problems that were asked previously.

If you are successful in the programming test and video interview, you are then invited for an assessment center at one of their locations. This lasts about 6 hours over 4 slots.

Although it is supposed to be a mix of behavioral and technical interviews, it was mostly technical. It felt like they had made their decision by the second or third round, and the rest of the day was just going through the motions, as the interviewers seemed disinterested and did not take many notes.

The entire day was very isolated, as you spend most of the day in a small room where all your interviews take place, with very short breaks.

Although they said they would get back to me within one day, I heard nothing for two weeks until I had to ask about my application. The feedback I got was brief and not very helpful, especially for 6 hours of interviewing.
