Process
The interviewer was not sincere and was playing with his dog the whole time. I couldn't understand how this person had become director. The questions seemed aimed at proving what you don't know rather than what you do know.

Incompetent Managers, Stagnant Learning
Software Engineering Manager • Current Employee
San Jose, California, United States
August 17, 2008
Pros: None really at this stage.
Cons: Dealing with too many "technically below par" engineers and, even worse, managers who are technically incompetent. Hence, your learning will be limited. If you stick around long enough, you will never get out of this mess because you won't find any outside jobs with the primitive skills you end up learning here at Cisco.
I deal with many business units and groups within Cisco. There are a lot of unproductive people who do not have enough work to do, like the product managers. Most of these product managers will not have their job plates full for a good portion of the year.
This is also true for lots of engineering managers and directors. Essentially, they are misusing public investment with poor money management.
