It was a good experience working for Cisco. The peers are good, yet management has many layers and way too many VPs
The technology for routers and switches is still the best. John Chambers is a great salesman and a good leader in terms of taking care of the customers. The growth for the early years was great.
Cisco bought quite a few consumer lines that did not really bring in considerable revenues. There are way too many VPs, directors, and managers in the company. Their contribution should be cross-examined and evaluated.
I hope management will be wise enough to acquire good profit-potential companies in the future when technology cannot be created within. Management has way too many layers that need to be carefully evaluated and consolidated.
