Cisco is truly caring about employees, and when John Chambers calls us the Cisco Family, he really means it. Cisco's compensation and benefit packages are excellent compared to other industry peers. Cisco has an excellent senior leadership team at the top.
In some areas, Cisco has too many layers of management. Also, the work culture can be quite inconsistent across teams. Some teams would be working many hours and tight deadlines, and other groups taking it easy.
Eliminate the fat in the middle layers. Encourage risk-taking.
If Cisco wants to be a software company, invest in the go-to-market and a sales force with the ability to sell enterprise software.
The interview process was the usual, similar to any other company's interview. The interviewer was helpful throughout the process. This was a good interview experience for me with Cisco. It helps to be prepared for coding.
