Pros

If you want to lead a peaceful life with no tensions, then Cisco is the place for you. I think Cisco is a great place for married people, as married people need to strike a balance between their married and professional lives.

Cons

The downsides are unlimited. Cisco's talent retention policy is pathetic, and they don't give adequate recognition to the talent they have. In fact, in one of the interviews I've heard Chambers say that they don't like to hire the best. Cisco is a place for the mediocre. Cisco is the number 1 networking company in the world, but from the salaries perspective, they are at the 60th percentile.

Advice to Management

I think the management is doing a fine job because the work at Cisco is so mediocre that any mediocre person can do it. I guess that's the reason why they figure at the 60th percentile.
