As a software developer, most of the work is about fixing defects in badly written, poorly documented legacy code and unit testing them on overcomplicated test setups. Don't get swayed by fancy job descriptions.

Managers have limited themselves to asking for status and rarely talk with team members to understand their problems.

Regular layoffs have created a culture of withholding knowledge, and there isn't much camaraderie in the team.
