Raises/promos are few and far between anymore. HR runs the show. Many high-level execs seem mostly interested in kingdom-building and not about doing great work.
A rising tide raises all ships... don't be selfish. Listen to your technical people. Work with other teams. Don't hoard glory for yourself.
