Cisco does a great job of building an environment conducive to growth for interns, and the people are fantastic! My experience as a Cisco Intern was a fun and productive one, and it morphed into an offer to continue working part-time through school!
Cisco is a really, really big, really, really complicated organization, and the number of moving parts is extensive. You can expect it to take a few weeks to begin to understand exactly how the work you do fits into a larger whole.
Cisco is constantly reinventing itself and trying to innovate, which is good. However, one area where innovation is slow is HR/Hiring practices. Bring in someone extremely talented at HR and shake up the existing order. It feels like while everything else is moving extremely fast, HR is still stuck in the '90s.
