Pros
  • Excellent work environment, casual but demanding.
  • The Cisco name: the king of networking.
  • A very solid, stable company, without any really aggressive competition.
  • Plenty of paid time off.
Cons
  • As an intern, I have observed that the work week can be extremely long for full-time employees. This type of time commitment is expected when customer issues arise (some members of my team just put in a 100-hour work week).

  • There is some flexibility with work/life balance in that you can work a 40-hour week if you get your job done and can choose when you come to work and leave. However, if you expect any type of promotion, work must be your life.

  • Too many constraints and stringent processes cause a lack of innovation and creativity.
