Pros

Cisco has many pros for working there, which is due to the size of the company. They can offer great benefits:

  • Willing to hire new grads and give great new grad pay.
  • Great benefits, time off, time to give (40 hours), and baby leave.
  • They equip you with all the equipment you need to be successful.
  • Leadership is very open.
  • Laid off due to restructuring right before COVID-19 (Feb 25th), but they provided a tremendous package.
  • Work/life balance is great if you set boundaries.
Cons

The pay starts great as a new grad but is quickly average compared to jobs in the area. Since the company is so large, every position or opportunity you will see quite a bit of competition. There is quite a lot of change happening within orgs. As a large company, this is to be expected. However, about every year you will experience layoffs in some departments, new managers, etc. If you don't know how to network, learn it. That's the only way you can stand out in a company this large.

Advice to Management

Nothing at this time. I think you do a great job communicating downward the best you can in a massive environment.
