Pros

Good coworker, some good technologies, good engineers.

Cons

Cisco is now a great place for middle-level management and up (director and up). These extremely ambitious managers move around different BUs and divisions, imprint their styles, and leave for better opportunities to move up. What this means to the rank and file is constant change for no good reason, which is very counterproductive.

Cisco is now all about "manage up"; what your manager's perception of you is all that matters. Even if you suck, but your manager likes you, you will be fine.

This "manage up" culture is a chain reason for stupid decisions from clue-less, extremely ambitious executives that trump any grassroot common sense. That's why Cisco sucks so much in the last two years.

The remote work center has seriously backfired; it is one of the most counterproductive ideas at Cisco.

Advice to Management

If you are directors or above, please fire yourselves, because you suck!

Also, break Cisco into separate companies. I seriously think BUs fight more than work together.

There's too much overlap in product lines.
