Plenty of good talent is lost simply because there is a constant level of uncertainty where the company will be in the next two years. Projects are invested in for a while, then discontinued without any indication a problem existed, and entire teams are discarded rather than reassigned.
This generates a level of uncertainty that drives good workers to seek new, more stable, opportunities.
