Pros

Great opportunities to learn and wide access to information.

Use of technology in the company.

Ability and flexibility to use the products/technology.

Some very technical and smart individuals.

Cons

Losing focus and flexibility.

Culture of constant work/response expectation and escalation.

Too many layers of process and infrastructure.

Tools/infrastructure harder to use.

Poor work/life balance.

Outsourcing jobs and outsourcing talent/core competencies.

Inefficiencies due to virtualization/time zone and discussion/solutions through email/process (and the need for more processes and metrics).

Advice to Management

We need to focus on innovation, less process and metrics. We also need to reconsider the true efficiency, gains, and values derived from outsourcing.
