Pros

Flexible work environment.

Lots of opportunities for self-development, but note they won't get you any rewards.

At least in my BU, top-level management is willing to listen and wants me to be happy.

Few good BUs, so it depends on where you end up working.

It's a good company for incompetent managers, so it depends on what you are getting hired for.

Cons

Most first-level and second-level managers are not technically competent. This creates a challenging environment because your relationship with them matters the most when it comes to growth or work satisfaction. They feel empowered and rule by their ego.

Much of your growth depends on the relations you build rather than your technical skills. Give me a break; it's a technology company.

Absolutely no innovation. Most people keep porting or integrating features.

After working here for a while, it's hard to get a job elsewhere.

Advice to Management

Promote people to managers not just based on people/talking skills, but also look at their technical competence, especially if they have to get involved with technology projects.
