Pros

Good training is available to all Cisco employees.

An excellent company for new, young Padawans, and if you join at a management level.

Cons

As a global company, it is expected to work at least 12-14 hours a day. There is no concept of work-life balance. While it is good to do that when you first join the company for the first year, expecting that for all the years means something is amiss.

Opportunities for growth are only available if you are in the same location and bond with management.

There is no concept of providing performance feedback of your peers to the level above them anonymously.

Advice to Management

Restructuring every quarter just because a company acquires other new companies to offset the cost is not a way to do business. People work hard, and if management/company cannot provide that perspective, guess where the loyalty of employees will be.

Depending on who leads the technology, every new leader shows benefits to their peers via PPT presentations, and Cisco drops or closes sites.

Boston is an education hub of the world, and yet the closure of sites/campuses in the region does not bode well overall for the company.
