Process

Steps:

  1. Was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn.
  2. The recruiter sent a HackerRank link for me to complete. a. There were 5 questions on the HackerRank; I got all tests passing except for 1 question.
  3. The recruiter emailed the next day saying they wanted to move forward with a phone interview.
  4. Set up the phone interview for the following week.

The phone interview was fine, and the interviewer was nice. I was asked some in-depth questions about JavaScript and which features of ES6 I use. Then, I was asked to create a small React component. I did fine, but I didn't get an onsite because I think I didn't know my JavaScript well enough. If you are applying for a front-end role, make sure you know the ins and outs of vanilla JavaScript, not just React.

I was ghosted by the recruiter, which is whatever, but it'd be cool to at least get an automated message saying I wasn't moving forward.
