Cons: As an engineer, you and your work are more of a cost center for the business, and not a priority. Work-life balance is not a priority (which is fair).

The projects that you will work on will often have high impact and visibility.
Cons: There is some bureaucracy in the IT organization, and some of the technology is outdated.
