Negative ExperienceNo Offer
Process
Initial screen followed up by a meeting with engineering managers.
My interview with the engineering managers was disappointing. It seemed like one of them was way more interested in finding ways to disqualify me rather than recognize my strengths.

Pros: Good tech stack, friendly people.
Cons: Not your typical tech company, more like a family business.

Great company & great dev culture
Senior Software Engineer • Current Employee
Calgary, Alberta, Canada
October 1, 2025
Pros: The job is fast-paced, and you will learn a lot.
The feedback loop is consistent, and other devs, managers, and designers actively help you grow and succeed.
Product, design, and development work closely together.
Cons: - Moving too fast and growing fast, so the requirements tend to change more so than other software companies over the course of a project.
- High pressure to deliver.

Clio's engineering organization is great. Lawyaw's is not
Senior Software Engineer • Former Employee
November 2, 2023
Pros: Clio's engineering organization is mature, competent, and transparent. A top-tier Ruby shop and a great place to learn. I absolutely recommend Clio as a place to work for engineers.
Cons: Lawyaw, one of Clio's recent acquisitions, is a disaster. Non-existent technical direction, ridiculous big bets destined for failure, egregiously toxic culture. No engineer has any chance to succeed here. Stay away until Clio steps in and does the necessary restructuring.
