VP of Engineering Interview Experience - Vancouver, British Columbia

Process

I applied for this role, which was listed as a remote role in Vancouver. I had a few people put my name forward, in addition to reaching out directly to the recruiter.

Despite them repeatedly reposting the role every week, I finally heard back after almost 3 months with an email stating: “We noted from your resume that you are located outside of the preferred location for this job opening. In this instance, we are unable to move forward with your application. If this changes in the future, please reapply and we would be happy to reconsider your application.”

The role was for a remote position in Vancouver, and I’m located in Vancouver. I found a different job in the meantime, but what an awful candidate experience. I don’t see what all the hype is about with this company.
