I applied on April 10th.
May 14th: Just over a month later (+4 days), I had my first phone interview. They asked for an introduction and details about my previous projects. This phone screening went very well. A few days later, they sent me a test on HackerRank.
May 22nd: I still had no response regarding the test or next steps. I sent a follow-up email and received the message: "I was out of the office, will get back to you by May 24th."
May 24th: Nothing from them.
May 30th: I wrote another follow-up email and then received: "Thanks for your email. Your code is currently being reviewed and we will get back to you by the end of the week."
Later that day, I received the following message:
"Thank you for your interest in Cloudflare. We know there are a lot of companies out there that are hiring, and we appreciate that you took the time to consider us.
It was a pleasure to learn more about your skills and accomplishments; however, our team will not be moving forward with your application for the Systems Engineer position at this time.
We are a fast-growing company, and our roles are constantly changing. Please continue to watch our job openings at Cloudflare Careers for future opportunities.
Until then, we wish you all the best in your endeavors!"
Wow, such a nice rejection from Cloudflare after nearly 1.5 months. They mentioned the position in the rejection email as "Systems Engineer," but I was applying for a Full Stack role.
