Process

The interview process began with a phone screen, followed by an engineering manager call, and then an on-site interview. The on-site consisted of two pair-programming questions.

The first interviewer was nice and helpful. I built an API-like program, and the interviewer was clear about what he was looking for. Things went downhill with the second interviewer.

He seemed tired, moody, and disinterested. He had to leave for 15 minutes to use the restroom due to stomach problems. While I was coding and thinking out loud, he kept typing on his laptop. He said talking was good, but he was obviously not listening to me. I completed the program I was asked to code.

The rejection reason was that I didn't meet the standard in the second technical round. When the interviewer didn't give a damn about my code, how was I not meeting the bar? I'm glad I didn't move forward and dodged a bullet with this one. I couldn't imagine working with the second interviewer, who had terrible communication skills and personality, and could have been my teammate.
